But this particular message is for people in the market for a marketing writer or editor, people who want a sense of who I am, what I stand (and don't stand) for, and whether I'm a good fit for the project you have in mind.

Are you the right client for me?
Here's the thing: even as you must evaluate me -- my writing style, my marketing knowledge, my testimonials, my portfolio -- I must evaluate you, because over the years, I've gotten very clear on who my ideal client is, and who is not.
That clarity is important, because just as much as I must be a fit for you, you must be a fit for me. How else could we create beautiful content together?!?

Upwork, formerly known as Elance, is where I got my start as a freelance writer back in 2002. I still use the system today, but now I use it to find people to work for me rather than to find people to work for.
