Filling the marketing funnel for future drip campaigns
This sample direct mail letter for a consultant comes from working with a physician who advised the leaders of pediatric emergency centers.
The direct mail letter's goal: To generate leads and gather the names and contact details of prospects for future drip marketing campaigns.
The most compelling part of this winning campaign was the offer for "Free resources to put your ED on the fast track to excellence in pediatric care."
We suspected that offering a "free consultation" would be much less appealing than offering "free resources." After all, how many times have YOU been ready to buy at the very moment when an offer arrives?
The campaign also included a postage-paid business reply card, which I designed so that busy administrators who might not be near their computers when reading the letter could quickly check a few boxes to get their free resources.

Direct mail campaign results
My client reported back that "so far," out of 2,000 letters mailed:
* 50 cards returned
* 6 emails/calls received
* 20 reports downloaded (plus another 50 mailed per card requests)
* 30 new newsletter subscribers (plus another 40 subscribed per card requests)
Not too shabby!
